South Australian Winter Weddings - am I crazy?
With Adelaide's venues in demand during the September - April months, winter weddings are becoming more popular despite the cold.
I am one of those crazy brides who will be wed in July. My H2B (husband to be) and I really only had the choice of July, December and January to get married because of work and study commitments. What's a wedding without a honeymoon we asked ourselves??? We needed to build in time to enjoy our newly wed status before life (and our two adorable children) took control of our lives again. So, July it is!
Yes, on 9 July 2010 we will be getting hitched ON THE BEACH before hosting our friends and family at the Semaphore Palais for our reception. Many think we are crazy but most think we are brave. What a difference! With snuggly blankets, hot chocolate and mulled wine to keep everyone warm, we are certain that our short and sweet ceremony won't cause too much frost bite. And our guests are already looking forward to experiencing the sunset on the beach in the middle of winter.
I've been doing some research and found that there are other "crazy" people out there. Adelaide's winter months give opportunities for open fire places, lots of snuggles and very romantic weddings. Forget about the cold and embrace this step outside of South Australian wedding tradition.
Other benefits include discounts from many popular wedding venues, definite availability in your favourite church or garden, certain availability of suppliers such as photographers, caterers, florists and the other professionals we all rely on to make our day wonderful.
Winter weddings need careful consideration, meticulous planning and back up plans for those moments we can't control but don't let this put you off. Remember there are professionals who can help you prepare for a winter wedding - me being one of them!
So before you label us winter brides and grooms crazy, consider the romance and mystery that can be created at a winter wedding.
And don't forget to call 3 Piece Events for all your winter (and all year round) wedding advice.
Until next time.

Hello World
Welcome to 3 Piece Events new blogspot.
Here I hope to bring the world to your door with inspiring event themes and decor, wonderful experiences for all to share and tips on how to visually entice your audience.
After returning from several years of hard slog in Europe, I realised that South Australia was in need of an all rounded event management company that could provide different clients with different solutions. Althought little old Adelaide has a selection of events companies and wedding planners, each seemed to specialise in only one or two areas. I am lucky enough to have worked for some of the worlds largest organisations, I have a personal interest in helping give brides and grooms the power to design their own weddings and I have an overactive imagination and subsequent creative streak which all go hand in hand very well.
So, 3 Piece Events was created to meet the needs of a diverse client base, each with their individual ideas, event concepts, wedding dreams and budget restraints.
Business for me over the last 12 months has been an exciting rollercoaster with many highs and the odd low. Business in its first year is always hard but the knock on effect of the Global Financial Crisis certainly tested my ability to hang on with a white knuckled grip.
My patience and determination has paid well and I am now beginning my second year of business with clear goals, new strategy and a heck of a lot of experience.
Throughout this blog experience, I hope to give inspiration to people who wish to add an unusual element to their celebrations and corporate events. I also endeavour to provide trend news, alternatives, solutions and budget saving tips.
So if you have a a question, or need some assistance, please feel free to send me an email, post a comment or visit http://www.3pe.com.au/ for more information.
Until next time.
